Kuźnica is located on one of the narrowest sections of the Hel Spit. The width of the land strip between the sea and bay is only 200 m. In the period of winter's storms, the land is frequently flooded. In 1983, the pressing sea waves caused the dune base line to move back on the section of 30 meters.m.
